Sahara was born at Allagante Silkens, one of four in the desert litter.
She is a delightful, confident puppy and makes friends wherever she goes.
Sahara also has many interests but her favorites are at the opposite ends of the
spectrum, running and cuddling.
She is a talker who is very vocal in her demands. When she plays, she sounds like
a baby bear which tends to frighten those that don’t know her.
Miss Sahara doesn’t quite have control of her tail yet and it happily goes every which
way as she moves.
She is a little sunbeam and we tell her every day that we love her and that we’re so
glad she’s in our lives.
Sahara has started entering Obedience and Rally-Obedience trials and received her
first qualifying leg for Rally in her first trial with a score of 180. ASCA Rally-O differs from AKC Rally in that honor stations are included in Novice and signs for more the advanced classes in AKC are included in ASCA's Novice classes. Sahara earned her second leg in Rally Novice with a score of 197; her third leg earning her Rally Novice Championship was a perfect score of 200 on June 11, 2011. On the same day she earned her first leg in Rally Advanced with a score of 187. Sahara has since scored two more qualifying legs at the advanced level (all off leash) in rally and would have the Rally Advanced title but all three have been under the same judge, so she needs one more. She earned
her first leg in Novice Obedience on March 13, 2011. She earned her second leg on January 15th, 2012 and on March 31, 2012, under a tough judge, she earned her third and final qualifying leg. Sahara then became the second Silken Windhound
to earn an obedience title (CD). On April 15, 2012 Sahara became the first Silken to earn a Rally Advanced (RA) title.

Sahara got her CQ on her Birthday (07/24/2010) and won her first field trial the next day coursing with the big dogs!
In ISWS straight racing, she tied in 2010 for 32nd place and had only entered three race meets.
2011 Sahara was the #2 female and #12 overall in LGRA straight racing; In 2012 she was the #3 female and tied for #15 overall.
2013 she was #3 female. She is currently sitting at the #2 female position for 2014 as well.
Sahara earned a five point major at our Nationals on May 7, 2011 at 21 months of age in her first show in the Open Class.
She, with her Daddy Dior, also won Best Brace. In addition, Sahara earned her lure coursing Field Championship at the Nationals on Monday May 9, 2011. On June 11, she completed her rally novice title with a perfect score of 200 and earned her first leg in advanced with first place honors. Sahara is the second Silken to earn her Novice Obedience title (CD) - March 31, 2012.
